The Connections You Need
Fairfax County is the center of Northern Virginia’s defense corridor, offering unmatched access to decision-makers, mission partners and U.S. Government agencies. Leading defense firms and startups alike call Fairfax home, and with good reason. The proximity to Washington, D.C., the Pentagon, DoD and more than two dozen U.S. Military installations allows for constant engagement with key federal stakeholders. This access translates into action. Fairfax-based companies consistently win more federal contracts than their counterparts anywhere else in the country.
The strength of the region’s defense sector is bolstered by partnerships with local academic institutions like George Mason University, whose Mason Autonomy and Robotics Center is leading cutting-edge breakthroughs in the development of autonomous systems, advanced command-and-control platforms (C5ISR) and counter-UAS defense systems. This deep integration of innovation, research and policy access makes Fairfax a mission-ready destination for companies to push the limits of defense innovation while expanding their national security footprint.
