Smart City Challenge 2022

The Smart City Challenge is a two-month innovation competition to find innovative solutions to the most pressing challenges in transportation, energy, healthcare, housing, infrastructure, public safety, and more. The Challenge is proudly hosted by Refraction, Smart City Works, Fairfax County, Virginia Tech, Girls in Tech DC, and The Universities at Shady Grove. Learn more at bit.ly/scc22.

Through a series of hybrid (virtual and in-person) events and discussions, we hope to help create and celebrate innovative and scalable solutions that make our region more livable, resilient, and sustainable for everyone.

We invite people from all backgrounds (students, entrepreneurs, companies, and more) to join and share their solutions for the future. Please register to compete in the competition and/or to attend our events.
