Downtown McLean Matters: An Economic Symposium

Join us for the inaugural Downtown McLean Matters: An Economic Symposium!  The morning event, to be held at the storied Kazan Restaurant, will examine an array of matters with respect to downtown McLean.

The keynote speaker, Peter Rowan, U.S. Vice President of Public Affairs for Mars, Inc., will review that longstanding McLean company’s decision to expand here, and its progress towards that end.

Featured speaker Stephen Tarditi, Director of Market Intelligence at the FCEDA, will review regional economic conditions, emerging economic trends, and leasing activity, particularly here in northeastern Fairfax County.

Other matters to be addressed in relation to downtown McLean include:

  • the state of office and retail leasing;
  • commercial lending trends;
  • land use and development, including approved projects and adaptive reuses of space; and
  • placemaking and beautification efforts
