Protecting What You Build: Intellectual Property as the Entrepreneur’s Core Asset

Great entrepreneurs execute on an innovative vision to improve the lives of others. Whether for profit or not for profit, the core of these ventures consists of particular solutions to tough problems. Such solutions in turn are combinations of information and practical methods, code or devices that are legally defined as intellectual property. Patents, copyrights, trade secrets and trademarks play different roles in defining the scope, title and rights to innovative solutions. This session will guide attendees through these types of intellectual property and how experienced entrepreneurs rely on them to implement their visions.
