Aviation & Airports Activities Committee Meeting with William S. Swelbar.

On Tuesday, March 30 at noon, the Committee for Dulles’ Aviation & Airport Activities Committee is holding a Zoom meeting with guest speaker William (Bill) S. Swelbar of Swelbar-Zhong Consultancy. Swelbar-Zhong Consultancy is a commercial aviation economic analysis and research firm that specializes in complex issues emanating from structural change(s) to the airline industry.

Bill is also with McKinsey & Company, Inc. as an external advisor to its Transport, Logistics and Infrastructure Practice, and a Board of Directors member of Hawaiian Airlines. In December of 2016, he was appointed to U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Working Group on Improving Air Service to Small Communities. Bill has been a Research Engineer in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s International Center for Air Transportation since 2006, where he is affiliated with the Global Airline Industry Program and Airline Industry Research Consortium.

Bill will share with the Committee his unique perspective of the aviation industry, what impacts the pandemic has had on air travel, and what the future holds for air travel.
