Beyond the Patent: How AiPi Solutions is Turning Intellectual Property into Opportunity

For technology companies, patents are more than legal protections. They can be valuable assets for attracting investment, bringing products to market and driving business growth.

Fairfax County-based AiPi Solutions is helping companies unlock that value by combining expertise in intellectual property, technology, business and finance with AI-powered tools. Founded in 2015 by veteran patent attorney Eric Morehouse, AiPi works with startups, established technology companies and investors to strengthen patent strategies, identify commercial opportunities and make more informed investment decisions.

At the center of its approach is LeifAI, an AI-powered platform developed to help companies evaluate their technologies, identify gaps in the market, assess potential partners and acquisition opportunities, and build strategic patent portfolios aligned with business goals.

Headquartered in Fairfax County, AiPi benefits from proximity to the region’s technology companies, investors and federal customers.

“Fairfax County is unique in its intersection between deep tech startups, mature tech companies, investment firms, and government connections,” said Morehouse.

In our latest Q+A, Morehouse discusses how AiPi and LeifAI are helping businesses turn intellectual property into measurable value, the role of AI in technology commercialization, and why Northern Virginia provides an ideal environment for the company’s continued growth.
