About Our Speaker: Craig Cheifetz, MD

Craig Cheifetz, MD, FACP, is the VP, Corporate Health and Premium Services. His clinical expertise is enriched by his passion for physical fitness and health education. For the past 20 years, he has made a positive difference in the lives of patients across the mid-Atlantic region.

Dr. Cheifetz is a leading educator as the Regional Dean of UVA Medicine Inova Campus and Director of the Inova Office of Undergraduate Medical Education. He has received several “Golden Apple” teaching awards and knows how to educate and motivate his patients to become healthier and more energized. He leads by example and his patients will tell you that “he gets it.”

Dr. Cheifetz has been an integral part of Inova and the Inova Fairfax Hospital medical staff for more than 15 years. He was recognized in 2012 for outstanding achievement by the American College of Physicians when he received the Walter J. McDonald Award for Young Physicians. He was also the 2011-2013 Chair of the AAMC Group on Regional Medical Campuses, which represents the interests of regionally located medical schools in the United States and Canada. The selection of Dr. Cheifetz to lead this group was based on his outstanding accomplishments with the development of the VCU School of Medicine – Inova Campus, while maintaining the highest level of quality education at Inova.
