Find an attractive tax environment in Fairfax NOVA — a region that has maintained a stable six percent state corporate income tax rate since 1972. Fairfax NOVA also offers a low real property tax rate, which has seen a 37 percent decline since the late 1970s, as well as tax credits for green jobs creation.

Incentives

Fairfax NOVA collaborates with the Commonwealth of Virginia to offer incentives to foster economic growth, including the Virginia Jobs Investment Program, which is designed to support the establishment of new jobs and investment in the Commonwealth, alleviating the financial burden on new and expanding companies by offsetting recruiting and training costs. The Virginia Office of the Governor plays a pivotal role in providing discretionary resources to qualifying companies tailored to criteria set by state legislation and aimed at bolstering job creation and investment in the area. In 2020, Fairfax County created the Economic Incentive Program (EIP) to offer advantages to companies who develop property in certain parts of the county. Benefits include a reduction of site plan fees and a partial abatement of real estate taxes.
